Although things started off a little iffy, we finally got everything squared away with the owner of this houseboat and had a fantastic time. The boat’s location is a bit away from the city center, but close to 2 tram locations. And, public transport is extremely well set up, so getting around was very easy. The neighborhood is quiet which was nice. There are some fantastic restaurants within walking distance, and Juul, the owner, can suggest several close by. For those that want to cook and prepare meals, there is a grocery store within a 5 minute walk.

One thing I would suggest would be to arrange a bike rental so you have a bike while you are there. There is a rental place within two blocks, and others not too far away. There is also a scooter rental close by. Scooters can be fun, but the city is hectic, so be careful. The interior of the boat was nicely laid out, bedrooms were a little small, however that’s what you deal with in Amsterdam. Space is at a premium. I didn’t spend a lot of time at the houseboat. However, the LR, kitchen, dining area are comfortable when you do decide to spend time there. All in all, the stay was wonderful. I am all ready planning on being back soon!!!
